Description: The chairman and chief executive officer of the company that makes Tabasco on Avery Island in Louisiana, Paul McIlhenny has died. He was 68. No word on the cause of death.

McIllhenny was the sixth generation of his family to live on Avery Island. He was the fourth generation to keep the family business going. A cousin of Paul Mcilhenny, Tony Simmons had already been named president of McIlhenny Company, and may be positioned to take over the whole operation.
