FEMA Reps in Three Louisiana Parishes to Advise on Home Repairs After Hurricane Isaac

Description: Hazard mitigation advisers from the Federal Emergency Management Agency are on hand in three Louisiana parishes to help home and business owners build stronger, if their property was damaged or destroyed during Hurricane Isaac. The experts will be at the Lowe's on Millerville Road in Baton Rouge, at Home Depot on Veterans Boulevard in Kenner and at Lowe's on Read Boulevard in New Orleans. The mitigation stations opened today and will remain open Mondays thru Fridays until Tuesday, November 27, with a couple of exceptions. The stations will be closed on Thanksgiving day and on Tuesday, November 20. The hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

The information will be geared primarily to people who are doing the work themselves or for general contractors. Topics covered will include roof repair, rebuilding flooded homes, home elevation, flood insurance, mold and mildew cleanup and emergency preparedness.
