Louisiana’s Hospice Program for the Poor Continued, After Being Targeted for Elimination
Description: Louisiana's hospice program for Medicaid patients has gotten a financial reprieve, at least for the next five months. The Jindal administration has reversed its decision to eliminate the program that provides support for dying men and women and their families. The program was on the chopping block because of Louisiana's dwindling finances. Today's reprieve will keep the program in tact through the end of June.
Supporters of the program rallied at the State Capitol last week.
