State Representative Clif Richardson Resigns Amid Health Problems
Description: State Rep. Clif Richardson, District 65 in Baton Rouge has submitted his resignation effective January 2. Richardson says he is resigning to devote more time to his health. He said in his letter of resignation, "Not being able to give my best, I know it is time for someone else to step in and serve."
The Speaker of the House, Chuck Kleckley today called for a special primary election in District 65 on Saturday, March 2 2013 to fill the vacancy being left by Richardson. The general election will be held on Saturday, April 6. People wishing to run the position can file notice with the Secretary of State's Office between January 9 and January 11.
